Today was like looking through a lens with different coloured filters.
So many colours my eyes are tired.
Pretty things, fluttery things and crawly things.
Yellow flowers, black trees, green grass, blue sky, white clouds, animals in greys and browns. All the colours of the rainbow.
There was a rainbow too.
But mostly I saw red. Red rock, red earth, red dragonflies, and red sunset.
We are staying with the Pianoman's parents in Alice Springs. They live on the school campus right behind the big white School Concert Hall you can see in the picture below. It's an oasis from the dry heat of the desert.
But tonight from Anzac Hill I see a red of the fierce and fiery kind as mother nature unleashes its fury. It's unsettling but everyone is calm. This is normal and we are safe.
I am looking forward to seeing some more red tomorrow when we head out to Uluru for a few days of camping.
I hope everyone is enjoying the festive season.
Linking up with My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday (well almost wordless. I tried, really I tried :-).

ReplyDeleteWow! I've never been to that part of Australia, but now I feel like I've had a little glimpse. Thanks for sharing these.

ReplyDeleteWow I love everyone of your photos.
ReplyDeleteThat's a view I remember so well. Whenever there were bush fires, up the mountain we would go to see what we can see. I can only imagine how hot it is for you guys right now. Merry Christmas! x
