Tell me these teeny tiny booties don't make you clucky....
They are the clever design and handiwork of lovely fellow blogger Annie from Knitsofacto. I first fell in love with her original teeny tiny knitted version of the Mary Jane's back in March.
She then designed the above "Jubilee" booties for a Giveaway she hosted in honour of the Queen's Jubilee. I entered the giveaway thinking of a few friends with babies on the way. I was super excited to be the lucky winner so they are currently on route to Tasmania all the way from Wales.
However, the booties will no longer need to leave our home as we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new little addition of our own towards the end of November/early December.
I can't tell you how excited I am, despite feeling like I've been slapped around with a bag of oranges for the last couple of months. I hope this goes a little way in explaining my lack of blogging of late.
Since finding out that I'm expecting baby number 5 I've been drawn to lots of 'signs'. It's strange how being in a situation puts some things in sharper focus than they otherwise would be. Like when I found out I was having twins it seemed like everywhere I went I suddenly saw a set of twins where I hardly noticed any before. Now I'm seeing things with the number 7, like this advertisement on the back of my friends magazine the other day.
I'm not sure whether they have based their slogan on vast market research but I'll happily accept that 7 is an adventure.
Are you a family of 7 or come from a family of 7? Do you agree with Mercedes-Benz's slogan? Can I please have your number on speed dial?
Have a great extra-special Queen's Jubilee Birthday long weekend!
OMG! CONGRATULATIONS!
ReplyDeleteI come from a family of seven! We had a Mercedes station wagon which we used to drive around in (rear reverse-facing seats). I love the sound of a Mercedes' doors shutting. Seriously. I had a great time growing up.
Though I'm not proof that a big family is better than a small family. That depends on the make-up of personalities.
Having said that, I think you're family dynamics are magic! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!XOXOXOX
Thanks MMMC! Sadly a Mercedes is not in the budget so we'll be keeping our trusty KIA Grand Carnival that we had to upgrade to when the twins came along :-)
DeleteI am not from a family of seven.
ReplyDeleteBut I do agree! I love big families. I would love to say I could cope with 5 kids because I think being a kid in a bigger family would be ace. But my body knows its limits....and better listen to itself!
Congrats,I hope you are starting to enjoy that wonderful time in the middle of pregnancy.
Starting to feel semi-human again thanks Claire! I agree about the body and its limits - it did take 4 years for my the separation in my stomach muscles to repair after the Twins :-D
DeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - that's fantastic news.
So excited for you all.
:-) xxx
Thanks Shar, just a few months behind you on the journey!
DeleteOh Wow wow WOW! That is lovely, exciting, super news Mel! Congratulations. Love the way you announced it... but I have to say, I clicked straight in here wondering if that is what you were going to tell us. The booties are scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteHope you start to feel that lovely 2nd trimester feeling asap xo
Thanks Jules :-D
DeleteSquee ... I've been waiting for this post since you told me :D I am honoured to think that the Teeny Tiny Jubilee shoes will be worn by your little one. Hugest congratulations to you and the gang :D
ReplyDeleteWe have four children and are unlikely to be adding any more, but we do have five whippets ;D
Yes, I can see myself with a "blanket of Whippets" down the track too Annie :-D
DeleteCongratulations to you and Pianoman, how exciting for you all. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of 5 children (my parents had us in 6 years- no twins), and knew the number 7 very well. We had one of the 1st Mitsubishi people mover vans. Fun times ahead for you all!
Wow Hazel, 5 in 6 years is amazing!!!
DeleteMel, congratulations to you and the Pianoman. How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI come from a teny tiny family (one sister, 2 parents, one grandparent and cousins we never saw) but my husband's family is large and I love that. I always think how great Christmas and family gatherings are when there is a lot of you.
I'm so thrilled for you. BIG CONGRATS XOXOXOX
Thanks so much Sarah :-D
DeleteWow, congratulations! Love the booties, but I have no desire for another baby, I'm not entirely sure how I got the 3 I own!!
ReplyDeleteHehe :-D
DeleteMany Congratulations to you all! You KNOW how I feel about the number '7'! What delightful news and so perfect that beautiful Annie's tiny booties are going to be so near and so loved. We started with twins, single, single, then number 5. Not sure of your order. Five was a big surprise for us but has been nothing but joy. The more you have the easier and funner it gets! So VERY happy for you !
ReplyDeleteAnnie, you were the first person I thought of when I found out and what a lovely role model :-D
DeleteI can't wait to see you tomorrow, Sweets! I'm so glad your delightful news is finally out ☺. J x
ReplyDeleteWoot woot! Such lovely news. You are a braver woman than I :-) x
ReplyDeleteThanks MM! I know you would be able to imagine that 1 in 4 years almost sounds civilised compared to 4 in 4 years :-D

ReplyDeleteAm sure there are many excited little people in your home at the moment. Take care.
Thanks so much Fiona x

Gorgeous, congratulations!! We're a family of 6 but just bought the Viano 8 seater, i tell you, Mercedes is glorious!! So so excited for you, i would have loved to have gone back for more but with all the time my soldier spends away, i just couldn't split myself into a solo mum for that many people. Now my youngest is 8 & we are neck deep in 4 children with their busy lives, i know i'd be a bit stuck here on my own with another child or two. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!! Congrats Mel! That's amazing!
