April Portraits - From the Red Centre

A Portrait of my Children once a month every month in 2013 via Che & Fidel

Eleanor - walking along the track to the Old Telegraph Station. We call this "Road Trip Hair".
Charles - playing around at Simpson's Gap and his last Portrait as a 6 year old - is it just me or does he already look like a teenager?
Noah - Exploring the hill behind his Grandparents's home.
George - Doing his best Ninja impersonation.
Flynn - 5 months old, such a happy little chap, still smiling when I plonk him on the red dirt. He may not remember anything from his first trip to Alice Springs but I will never forget what an amazing little traveller he was on our 5000 km journey.

My favourite Portrait from last week was this lovely one.

My previous monthly portraits are here:

  3. All just so beautiful, the light in all of them is stunning. I love Eleanor's long floating hair and I would have to agree I can see a teenager in your oldest boy:) And thank you for choosing my photo from last week as your favourite:)))xx

    1. If only the hair came with its own de-tangler, it was a bit of an ordeal getting the knots out this week x

    2. Farmgirl has fair floss hair that tangles non-stop. I brought a tacky looking plastic brush called a Tangle Teezer that has been absolutely fabulous. It was $30 which I initially thought was a lot for what it looked like but it has been so good for tangles. Has made it so much less stressful. My SIL had it recommended to her when she lived in London and was going to Kate Middleton's hairdresser (as you do...) You can buy them on-line or from hair dressers.

  10. You shouldn't be allowed to stop at just five Mel.
(And Eleanor's hair is very much like our Jessie's ... I hear your pain on the de-tangling front).

  12. Flynn is so cute with his big smile for you! Your twins Noah and George remind me of my little brother, always trying to make something out of a stick. Charles is growing up into a handsome young man but not quite a teenager yet Mel. Eleanor's hair is amazing even if it is tangled. Lovely portraits. Bet you wish you could have stayed on this road trip a bit longer?

  23. Oh these are just absolutely splendid! splendid! love all their different looks and sweet faces. I too am a fan of Eleanor' hair! Beautiful, though I can imagine all the knots. I had long hair until recently just this January/February. With my three boys I always felt like I was getting road trip hair on a daily basis! I hated to brush it too. xo

  27. They really are the most awesome bunch! I can see what you mean about Charles ... perhaps he is going to be one of those people who never really looks different as they grow older. 7 is one of the best ages to be :)
