Hello there.
How is your week going so far?
This time last year I was green with morning sickness and could barely get off the couch when Easter rolled around. This year I am feeling very excited about Easter and have made a start on making some Easter-y things.
Here are my 4 happy things for the week - little things that are bringing a smile to my dial.
1. A year ago I saw these knitted nests on Annie's gorgeous Blog but because I didn't know how to knit in-the-round I put the idea aside. Well a year of knitting later and suddenly these things don't seem so hard at all. They are super sweet and I love how realistic they look by using the right a combination of these two yarns. Annie's tutorial can be found here and revelry details here. The kids already love them and can't wait to collect their eggs in them . Three down, two to go!
2. I've worn glasses since I was 4 years old but I was having difficulty working out all of the word verifications that some of you have on your blogs. I used to get them correct straight away but noticed it was taking more and more attempts. Very frustrating! So I had my eyes tested a few weeks ago and there was talk about short eyeballs and old age (ahem!) and a need for stronger prescriptions. I picked up my new specs and it has made a world of difference to everything. I've gone for these dark frames this time and Specsavers had their two for one deal so I managed to get some prescription sunglasses too.
3. "Twister" - $3.00 from the op shop = hours of fun for the kids after school. This brings back fond memories from birthday parties attended in the 80's.
4. Something very exciting appeared in the mailbox today. Can you see from the sticker who it's from? I am over-the-moon thrilled to receive this kit from Alicia Paulson - it's a kit for her gorgeous Miss Maggie Rabbit. I adore her Blog and the things she designs and makes and when these came up I quickly bought one without even knowing whether it would get to Australia in time for me to make it up for Eleanor for Easter. Apparently they all sold out on the first day so I think I was super lucky! I hope I can do Miss Maggie justice. I can't wait to show you the finished product but needless to say, if you never hear of Miss Maggie again on this Blog then we can safely assume it was a disaster. There's a handwritten note from Alicia too - how sweet is that!
