Spoiler Alert...........well, only if you watch Better Homes & Gardens

Well just when I think nothing exciting happens in this quiet little community, I am proved wrong.

The weather was glorious today so I did nothing but bask in the sun all day long thought I'd check out the new community garden behind the village shops to get some inspiration for the vegie patch I'm planning for Tassie. And lo and behold, I see that the garden will be featuring on Better Homes and Gardens tomorrow night. We're going to be famous (she says with lots and lots of sarcasm!) I wonder if it's even possible to stretch such a segment to a whole 5 minutes....I can't wait to see what they have to say. Anyway, I thought I'd give you a sneak peak, visually speaking of course. I'll leave the informative stuff to the experts tomorrow night.

I do like the pretty picket fence and bench seats dotted around the place. The artwork is lovely and the lavender is a nice touch too.

There's everything from Passionfruit vines and herbs to Tuscan Kale and Rainbow Chard.

On a totally different note - I am perplexed as to why the local DVD store sells broken bits of tiling alongside the racks of DVD rentals. It is the weirdest thing ever and I fail to see the connection. Is it just me?

Things I Love In My Sydney Garden Today

Isn't this baby Kookaburra divine? Just perched on the tree in the front garden. I love his Robin Hood mask or is it fancy eyeshadow? And how gorgeous is his puffed up chest - reminds me of those long robes the Kings used to wear that reached the ground and covered their boots.

I have become a huge fan of Camellias since moving to Sydney. Ok, so they lack the gorgeous scent of Roses but their blooms are so luscious and they just look so good in the garden when nothing else is flowering in the winter. But Sadly, they won't be around much longer and these have been picked as the last bunch to grace our dining table and windowsills.

I found this dead palm thingy in the back garden and thought it would make a nice sculptural piece in the house. Reminds me of sea coral or seaweed.

Meet our Girls, Sarah & Leesa, named after some friends in Hobart (lucky them!). They like to congregate at the back door when they are out of their chook house.

Oh my goodness, how divine is this Poncho? Miss Fancy had a party to go to today and she picked my old Poncho to wear - it was made for me by my Nanny when I was 6 or so and it just melts me seeing her wearing it after all these days.
