One Crochet Baby Blanket - DONE!

Thank you all so much for your lovely get well wishes after my last Post and I'm sorry I've been slack and not visiting all your Blogs as a result. The Flu turned me into quite a sook this last week and so I shunned technology so my gloominess didn't infiltrate your spaces.

My day on the sofa with my "Grannies" actually turned into five days on the sofa but the Flu did result in a fever-induced crochet frenzy which enabled me to ignore everything and everyone and finally finish my very first crochet project. And here it is -  one Autumn-inspired Granny Square Baby Blanket!!!

Ta-da!!!!!!!!

I am disproportionately excited about finishing this little blanket. Unless of course it is normal behaviour to call one's husband and squeal into the phone "I've finished the blanket!!!" even though he was just outside in the Vegie Patch. I then felt compelled to lovingly photograph said blanket in all different locations and positions.

I can't wait to see my new little baby wrapped up in it. These were the colours I saw outside the window during Autumn when I found out I was pregnant and we were so excited about the new addition. The grey of the trees, the teal and blue of the sky and the Coal River and the yellows and reds of the Autumn leaves.

I fantasised about snipping all the ends off with my little scissors but I did not commit this crochet sin. No, I dutifully wove them all in even though it took hours and hours. The Blanket turned out bigger than I thought so I am keen to do a little ripple blanket for the pram next. But only if Annie will share  her no-ends-joining-technique :-). I definitely need a break from yarn ends.

OK, so I'm off to visit you all now and catch up on your news.

Hope you all have a great week!
